Summer Update
We've had a productive spring and summer to this point. The guys had a tough time at the MN Hoops Classic as we lost to four different AAAA schools (Prior Lake, Rosemount, Farmington, North St. Paul). We rebounded nicely in the Concordia Summer League this week going 4-2. We are working hard in the weight room and during individual training Mondays and Thursdays. Open Gym has been competitive with the help of a few Alums.
A couple guys who have stood out this summer have been captain Josh Gray 2013, who has lead us in pretty much every statistical category during our games. I've also been impressed with new comer Kent Hanson 2016 who stepped in and contributed to the Varsity Summer Team right away. The incoming freshman class joining Dalante Peyton has a chance to be scary good.
On another bright note, construction of our new gym floor is under way and should be finished mid-late July.

Plan to Improve
We have quickly moved into the off season and guys have already started working to get better for next year. Our open gym and Summer Team schedule is complete (see schedule above). For the first time we will have two Summer Teams playing, a 9/10 grade team and Varsity team. We currently have 7 players participating in AAU basketball this spring and will continue to do so this summer with MN Premiere. We will start our individual workouts in June, which will be the key to our improvement as a program. With 8 of our top 10 guys from last years team coming back what we do this spring/summer will be extremely important to our success next year. We also look forward to working with a talented 2016 class which added a few newcomers who will add a lot to the program moving forward.

Regular Season Year End Report
We had an up and down regular season, improving from last year but didn't meet expectations. Our regular season record was 10-16 (6-10 in conference) We started strong and finished stronger and we currently are playing our best basketball going into sections. Last year we struggled to be competitive in a lot of our games, this year I thought we gave ourselves a chance to win every game except (De La Salle and Minnetonka). The guys battled all year, which included some tough off the court issues. The fact that they didn't fold after losing 10 of 11 games shows a lot about their character. Our 6 seniors lead us in character sacrificing playing time to younger guys and taking on different roles from last year. We look forward to competing in sections this week and will continue working hard until somebody tells us the seasons over.
Congrats to:
Josh Gray (JR)- All Conference- 343 pts, 51 three pointers shooting 40% from three, , 56 assists, 78 rebounds, 8 chrages taken.
Spencer Egly (JR)- All Conference Honorable Mention - 221 pts , 74 assists, 56 rebounds, 15 charges taken
Dalante Peyton (8th)- All Conference Honorable Mention - 267 pts, 41 three pointers shooting 36% from three, 116 rebounds, 55 assists, 41 steals, 30 blocks

Season Update
We are currently 6-9 and working hard to improve. We had a tough stretch of games which included a game at #8 4A Minnetonka and vs #4 2A Blake. Unfortunately we came up short in our last 4 games. We've done a pretty good job on defense but we haven't shown consistency on offense. We have been practicing hard and I look for us to have more success in the second half of the season.

St. Croix Lutheran
We lost to SCL last Friday night 51-46 which evened our record at 5-5. We struggled in the first half scoring which seemed to effect the boys on the defensive end. We forced way to many shots and gave up way to many easy baskets. Did a much better job in the second half but it wasn't enough. We need to work on our mental toughness, all of our losses have been by 8 points or less. Need to learn that every possession is the most important possession.
Josh Gray (Jr) lead us with 14 pts 5 rebs, Dalante Peyton (8th) chipped in with 10 pts 5 rebs.

St. Agnes #1
We got our 3rd win in row last night at St. Agnes 55-43. It sounds like a broken record but we started off slow again down 14-5 but got our act together quickly and went on a 29-7 run before another good push by St. Agnes midway through the second half. We had a chance to run away with it in the second half but couldn't get it done. We've clearly had trouble extending leads over the past three games. The guys need to learn not to relax when we are up 10+ points.
I was impressed with our balance on offense, Josh Gray (Jr) was held to 9 points on 6 shots which gave some other guys the opportunity to get it done. Spencer Egly (Jr) lead us with 15 pts 3 ast, Steven Olson (Jr) and Harrisen Egly (Sph) each added 9 pts. Connor Allen (Sph) filled the stat line again with 5 pts 13 rebs 3 ast 5 blk.
Humboldt on Thursday at Home.
