We beat Concordia Academy last night 61-55 in a closely played game. Both teams played extremely hard and it came down to some clutch three point and free throw shooting. We hit 9 three pointers, 6 in the second half. After a slow start from the free throw line we finished the game hitting 10 straight. Evan McMillan lead us with 16 points and 16 rebs and is playing at a different level lately. He is averaging 20 pts and 13 reb in the last four games. The balance of our team is starting to show as we continuously have 3 or more guys in double figures. Harry Whitaker and Nathan Johnson did some serious work for us on the boards last night and Santano Rosario continues to see the court and make good decisions with the ball. The goal is to be playing our best basketball at the end of the year and we are moving in that direction.
That win should give us the 2 seed in our section which is a great accomplishment for our program. Nothing is set in stone right now so we need to play hard and stay focused for our next two games.
Tonight we play Blake at home. We will be honoring the parents tonight quickly before the Varsity game. There will be refreshments for parents and family after the game in the school cafeteria.
Next Friday we play St. Croix Lutheran. We will be honoring our 11 Seniors before the game.

Coach - Thanks for taking the time to post your blog entries. They do get read and are followed by the SPA parents and fans! Congratulations to you and the team in winning these last 2 very close games against Concordia and Blake. Each game could have gone either way, but you guys won them both! Clutch play at the end of these games to come out on top. Keep it up in the sections and Go Spartans! Steve Whitaker
