We got our first win of the year vs Edison at home on Saturday. It took everything we had on defense to keep it close in the first half. We re-grouped at halftime and extended the lead from 2 to 17 by the end of the game, final score 57-40. After giving up 70 points in our previous two games I was happy to hold a team below 50, which is always our goal. Edison has a new coach this year and I was impressed with their discipline on both sides of the court, I wouldn't be surprised to see them have some success in the future.
Josh Gray (jr) has been lights out so far this year shooting closed to 50% from 3. He carried us in the first half offensively and finished with 26 pts 4 rebs 4 asts 3 stls. He is being rewarded for all of his work in the off season. Harrisen Egly (Soph) scored 11, all in the second half and Spencer Egly (jr) took three charges to set the tone defensively he also added 6 rebs.
Looking to get another win this Saturday vs Duluth Marshall after the boys dominate finals week. I'm probably most proud of how the majority of my guys attack academics, they really are the definition of STUDENT-Athletes.
