Sub Section Championship

Our season came to an end last night at Holy Angels vs Minnehaha Academy 64-41. The guys played really hard but we were clearly nervous and had trouble holding onto the ball and hitting open shots. We gave everything we had on defensive but it wasn't enough to get the job done. Minnehaha pulled away midway through the second half and we couldn't recover. Minnehaha looked like a team that has played in that game before and kept their composure throughout. I want to give credit to Evan McMillan (Sprained Toe/Foot) and Nathan Johnson (Bruised Ribs) for playing through some considerable pain. David McVeety and Harry Whitaker lead us with 9 pts and 7 rebs each. I think everyone was a bit stunned last night that the game wasn't closer and it was hard to wrap our head around what went wrong. What it boils down to is that we simply lost to a better team last night.

I'll add some comments later this week looking back on what was a fun and successful season!

The Tri Metro still has 3 teams still playing and we will at least have 1 representative in the State Tournament as Brooklyn Center plays Minnehaha Academy for that chance. De La Salle is also playing in a Section Title Game vs Columbia Heights.
