Heritage- We lost 56-49 at Hertiage Christian Academy on Tuesday Dec 21. We played them tough and had chance to win the game but turnovers and offensive rebounds hurt us. We shot the ball well making 9 three pointers but didn't get enough possessions because of untimely turnovers. Sam Dicke lead us with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Henry Sibley- We lost to Henry Sibley at home 57-33 on Wednesday Dec 22. We forced them to take outside shots but they made 11 three pointers which was the story of the game. They also got solid post play out of their big man. We had trouble getting good looks and didn't shoot the ball well offensively. Josh Gray lead us with 10 points and Joe Klein had a career high 8 rebounds.
Edison- We beat Edison 36-30 at Mounds Park Academy Tuesday Dec 28. We played our best defensive game of the year sticking with our Man to Man defense through the entire game. We forced them into a lot of contested outside shots and we buckled down on the rebounds in the second half. We still struggled on the offensive side of the ball but did enough to win the game. Sam Dicke lead us with 18 points and 7 rebounds.
Providence Academy- We lost to Providence Wednesday night 39-35. Again another solid defensive performance but we hurt ourselves giving up tons of offensive rebounds down the stretch. We also didn't do ourselves any favors going 8-18 from the free throw line. We got into some serious foul trouble because of a lot of reach in fouls in the first half witch hurt us in the 2nd half. We battled hard and tried to will ourselves to another win but couldn't finish the way we wanted. Sam Dicke had his third double double of the season scoring 15 points and grabbing a career high 16 rebounds. Spencer Egly also battled through a sprained ankle to score 10 points.
We are now a third into the season sitting at 2-7. We are playing hard but we also have to learn to play smart as well. We have a good stretch of practices before our next game. The practice time is much needed and I know we'll improve everyday.
