The Alumni gave us a great game Friday morning at St. Paul Academy. The Current Varsity beat the Alums 39-37 in a thriller. The Alums were up 35-26 with 4 minutes to play but the current players finished on a 13-2 run. The run was capped by a huge offensive rebound and put back by Sam Dicke with 3 seconds left. The Alumni were lead by Paul Nerland (2010) who had 8 points, scoring their only 2 points in last 4 minutes. The best part of the win was that the Varsity guys coached themselves, mostly led by Spencer Egly who didn't play because of a sprained ankle. We've been lacking leadership on the court this year hopefully this will trigger a few guys to step up.
This is the Second year we've had the alumni game and it's been a fun experience each time. I enjoy spending time with some of the older guys and it gives the current team a good chance to play against solid competition during the break. Thanks for your participation Alums!
