Minnetonka and St. Croix Lutheran

Minnetonka- We lost to Minnetonka last Thursday night 49-20. We played with a lot of purpose on defense forcing them into contested outside shots. However our scoring problem showed up again as we struggled to put the ball in the basket. We rushed on offense and missed plenty of make able shots. It's clear to me that for whatever reason some of our players/community gets caught up with the name on the opponents jersey rather than showing confidence and enthusiasm when we play AAAA teams. Our program will have to compete with and or beat teams such as Minnetonka/ Henry Sibley if we want our program to take the next step, similar to what St. Bernards and Minnehaha did when they went to state the past few years. I'm confident a tough schedule will only prepare us for tournament play later in the season.

St. Croix Lutheran- We battled SCL tough in the first half (21-18) but fell short in the second as SCL ran away 55-34. After watching the tape is was clear that we ran out of energy and enthusiasm in the second half having played a tough game the night before. We let fatigue and some bad shooting effect our mental state and SCL took advantage. The guys continue to play hard but at times forget to play Smart. Josh Gray lead us with 13 points going 3 of 7 from 3 point range.

We have three games this week, all on the road. St. Anthony 1-18, MPA 1-21 and Blake 1-22
